On May 13, the "Jifu" public welfare program for disability assistance themed "Healthy Jinan · Rural Revitalization · Disability Prevention" was launched in Laiwu District, Jinan.       At the launching ceremony, Lü Baoquan, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Laiwu District Committee, stated in his speech: "We must place the work for persons with disabilities in a very important position, strengthen organizational leadership, implement various policies, enhance support and guarantees, and strive to make the majority of persons with disabilities more dignified and happier. It is hoped that disabled persons' federations at all levels will earnestly perform their functions of representation, service and management, and solidly do practical things, good deeds and solve difficulties for persons with disabilities."

Taking Laiwu District as a pilot, the project team will screen and file records for patients with osteoarticular diseases such as femoral head necrosis, knee arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis with hip fusion, lumbar disc herniation and cervical spondylosis across Jinan. It plans to assist 100 joint disease patients by providing subsidies for eligible surgical expenses.

      Zhang Liyin, President of Jinan Joint Surgery Hospital (the project implementing unit), stated that the hospital performs over 1,000 joint disease surgeries annually, ranking among the top in Jinan, and is committed to safeguarding joint health with professional expertise. It will treat the "Jifu" program as a systematic project, conducting overall planning, meticulous organization and large-scale implementation. For eligible osteoarticular disease patients identified through screening and diagnosis, the hospital will establish detailed medical records, adhere to strict surgical standards and operational norms during medical assistance to ensure high-quality surgeries. It also welcomes social supervision to guarantee the activity's fairness, openness and transparency, ensuring aid funds reach those truly in need.

On-site Donation Ceremony

      On site, the caring enterprise donated 1 million yuan as a special fund to Jinan Disabled Persons' Welfare Foundation, earmarked for joint replacement surgeries of osteoarticular disease patients such as those with femoral head necrosis and knee arthritis. Ge Zhongming, Chairman of the Foundation, accepted the donation and awarded the enterprise a donation certificate and plaque.

      Qu Guoqing, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Chairman of Jinan Disabled Persons' Federation, stated in his speech that the launch of this public welfare program will provide new support and impetus for Jinan's efforts to build a "Healthy Jinan", marking an upgrade in the city's capacity to prevent disability and poverty caused by diseases and laying a solid foundation for national health. The "Jifu" program aims to improve the quality of life of joint disease patients and reduce disability rates. It is reported that the first four aided patients with femoral head necrosis and ankylosing spondylitis with hip fusion have each undergone unilateral hip replacement surgery. They expressed their gratitude to Jinan Disabled Persons' Federation, Jinan Disabled Persons' Welfare Foundation and Jinan Joint Surgery Hospital via video, stating that they will repay society and contribute their efforts to it after recovery.
